(00) Who we are

Roof Cans is the dumpster company built for roofers. Our two-compartment cans keep shingles separate so they can be recycled into asphalt paving, our prices come with a lowest price guarantee, and 10% of our profits go to breast cancer research.

Built for tear-off day.

From a single re-roof to a full schedule of jobs, we keep the can simple so your crew can keep moving.

(01)  The can

One side shingles.Everything elseon the other.

Our split roll-off has a divider built right in. Your crew drops shingles on one side and everything else on the other as they tear off, so there’s no sorting later and the shingles stay clean enough to recycle.

Side A

Shingles & nails

The larger compartment, at the rear doors. Tear-off shingles go here with whatever is still attached to them: the nails and the paper or plastic film on the back. Kept apart from other debris, the load can be processed and reused in asphalt paving.

  • Nails & fasteners
  • Shingle backing film
  • Starter strips
  • Ridge caps
B

Side B

Everything else

The smaller compartment up front takes the rest of the job, including any extra paper and general waste, so nothing contaminates the shingle load.

  • Wood & decking
  • Flashing & drip edge
  • Underlayment
  • Gutters
  • Extra paper & waste

Sort as you tear off

Crews toss each load into the right side the first time. Nothing gets re-handled at the end of the day.

Shingles that get a second life

A clean shingle load can be ground up and reused in asphalt paving instead of taking up landfill space.

Made for roofing jobs

(03)  Shingle recycling

Why it works

Asphalt shingles are made from many of the same ingredients as the roads you drive on: asphalt, mineral granules and fiber.

Mixed in with wood, metal and trash, shingles are just more landfill. Kept clean, they can be ground up and blended back into asphalt for paving. The divider in every Roof Cans container is what keeps them clean.

  • Shingles kept out of the landfill
  • Reused in asphalt paving
  • No extra steps for your crew

Questions,answered.

Still wondering about something? The fastest answer is a phone call.

1-800-797-1223
  • Side A, the larger compartment at the rear doors, is for asphalt shingles plus what's still attached to them: the nails and the paper or plastic film on the back. Side B, up front, takes everything else from the job: wood and decking, flashing and drip edge, underlayment, gutters, extra paper and general waste. Not sure about something? Just ask us.

  • Shingles can only be recycled into asphalt paving when they're clean. Once they're mixed in with wood, metal and trash, they're headed for a landfill. The divider keeps them clean without anyone sorting by hand.

  • Not at all. We work with roofers of every size, from one-truck crews doing a single re-roof to companies running several crews every day.

  • Our pricing is extremely competitive to begin with. If you have a quote from another roll-off company, mention it when you call or request a quote and we'll make sure you're getting the lowest price.

  • We serve Hartford and the towns across the Greater Hartford area, including West Hartford, East Hartford, Wethersfield, Newington, Glastonbury, Manchester, Windsor and more. Call us to confirm your job site.

  • Ten percent of Roof Cans' profits go to breast cancer research. Every can you book with us helps fund it.

  • Call 1-800-797-1223 or fill out the quote form on this page. Tell us the town, the size of the roof and when you need the can, and we'll take it from there.
